Evelyn McGregor Procunier

Evelyn McGregor Procunier, 92, of Barton City, passed away Friday, September 29, 2006 at Tendercare Greenview in Alpena. Born on April 22, 1914 to Charles and Goldie (Crawford) Sanborn in Barton City, she was raised there. On November 14, 1930, she married Emery McGregor in Detroit. They resided in Flint from 1959 until 1971, when they returned to Barton City. Emery preceded her in death on November 27, 1986. Evelyn was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Barton City. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau, and served on the Millen Township Zoning Board for 20 years, she was a member of the Barton City School Board, and served on the committee to consolidate the Alcona Community Schools. On September 21, 1991, she married Fred Procunier, and they resided in Barton City. Evelyn is survived by her husband Fred, 5 daughters; Violet Bethuy of Mikado, Helen Indish of Hubbard lake, Jodie Phelps of San Clememte California, Loretta Kowalski of Harbor Springs, and Anita King of Bailey Colorado, 3 sons; Wayne McGregor of Barton City, F. Scott “Joe” McGregor of Barton City, and Burton McGregor of Castle Rock Colorado, 27 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, one sister, Norma Todd of Panama City, Florida, 3 brothers; Jerome Sanborn of Barton City, Ernie Sanborn of Lincoln, and Russell McGregor of Plainwell, and by two step daughters; Kay Smith of Bay City, and Shelly Sonberg of Mikado. She was preceded in death by two brothers Leslie “Jack” Sanborn, and Herbert Sanborn. Mrs. Procunier is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visistaion will take place on Sunday, from 2 until 8 pm. Funeral Services will be on Monday, at 2:00 PM, Rev. Laraine Sundin officiating. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Barton City.
