William E. Woods, 82, of Mikado, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025.
Born March 29, 1943 to Edward and Marie (Beloskur) Woods in Harrisville, he has been a lifelong resident of the area. Bill served in the US Navy, and was one of the first people to survey the South Pole. On December 22, 1987, he married Susan Foster in Royal Oak. They were longtime residents of Mikado. Bill owned and operated Northeast Land Surveys in Oscoda, MI. He loved racing his motorcycle and riding dirt bikes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Bill is survived by his wife, Susan, and two sons, William G. Woods, and Evan Woods. He was preceded in death by his brother, Leslie “Butch” Woods.
Funeral services were held with military honors on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Gillies Funeral Home. Burial was in Mikado Cemetery.
