Thomas D. Goodemoot, 36, of Mikado, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.
Born September 26, 1989 to Kenneth D. and Cindy (Smith) Goodemoot in Carson City, MI, he was raised in Stanton, and Tennessee, returning to Michigan and graduating from Alcona High School. He worked as a blacksmith and farrier.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth B. Goodemoot and Atticus D. Goodemoot, his longtime girlfriend and mother of his children, Shelby Gohl, his mother, Cindy Smith, his sister, Sheryl (Kenneth Rudolph) Goodemoot, and his brother Kyle (Retno) Goodemoot, his nieces Selvi, Nadia, and Bonie Sue, his nephew Jackson, his grandparents, Marilynn Miller of Belding, MI, and Anita and James Knox of Zeeland, MI, his aunt Sheila Goodemoot of Belding, MI, his uncles Tim Bancroft of Belding, MI and Daniel Smith of Ithaca, MI, as well as several cousins and lots of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth D. Goodemoot in 2014, his maternal grandfather, Arlie D. Smith, and his aunt Bonnie Bancroft.
Thomas is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Rev. Tim Steiner will officiate.
