Stephen L.. Hudgins, 75, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.

Born December 23, 1950 to Joe and Marjorie (Payne) Hudgins in Detroit, MI, he was raised in Florida and Michigan. Steve served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a plumber with the Local 98. On September 1, 1984, he married Linda Johansson in Redford. They were residents of Livonia, until they retired to Lost Lake Woods Club in 1990. They owned and operated Assured Service Company. Steve did numerous jobs for G &G Construction, and in and around Lost Lake Woods Club, including plowing the snowmobile trails, and plumbing jobs at the campground and other buildings. He was well known for his quality work, and tried to help anyone at any time. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake. He loved to ride his motorcycle and snowmobile and enjoyed hunting. He was an expert golfer, with a single digit handicap. Most of all, Steve loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with them.

Steve is survived by his wife, Linda, four children, Lynne (Chris) Buscemi, Dawn Montagano, Nicole (Dan) Keaveny, and Brenden Hudgins, eight grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Kaylee, Miranda, Ryan, Tori, Jordan, and Alicia, and eight great grandchildren, Gabe, Jameson, Liam, Connor, JoJo, Kayden, Janelle, and Kaysley. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Hudgins in 2003, his son-in-law, Joe Montagano in 2025, his sister, Carol Saari, his brother, Gary Hudgins, and his parents.

Mr. Hudgins is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Hope Lutheran Church, (5462 Nicholson Hill Road, Hubbard Lake, MI 49747) from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Bryan Salminen will officiate. Memorial Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project
