Sharon L. Olson

Sharon L. Olson, 75, of Ossineke, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at her home after a battle with lung cancer. Born September 9, 1944 to Joseph and Leona (Rubash) Pula in Kelliher, MN, she was raised there. Sherry worked as a waitress at Wally’s Restaurant in Flint, and later worked for Alpena Dry Cleaners, Werth Dry Cleaners and Express Dry Cleaners. On May 5, 2007, she married her longtime companion Arthur Olson in Ossineke. Sherry was a member of Ossineke United Methodist Church. She enjoyed providing music as a DJ with Art for many years at Smokey’s, the Wagon Wheel, and for Exceptional Friends. Sherry is survived by her husband Arthur, her daughter Tracie (Mark) Porath of Swartz Creek, her step children, Debra Compeau of Spruce, Dan Olson of Black River, Doug Olson of Spruce, and Michael Morris of Flint, eight grandchildren, Nikole (Don) Spencer, Cortnee Birdsley, Kyle Flynn, and James, Jeffery (Sydney), Jordan, Jacob Compeau and Kendra Olson, six great grandchildren, her very best friend, Kristen Syma and her family, her sister, Linda (Bob) Bonadurer, three brothers, David (Shelly), Karl (Debbie), and Gary (Judy) Pula. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Cleona Halvarson, Loretta Bronner, and Eleanor Rikard, two brothers, Michael and Richard Pula, her son-in-law, James Compeau, and her great granddaughter Abigail Spencer.
