Robert D Himmer

Robert D. Himmer, 81, of Harrisville, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at his home.   Born June 29, 1937 to Ferdinand and Anna (Vorndran) Himmer in Detroit, he was raised there. Bob served in the U.S. Army. A longtime resident of Westland, Bob worked as an automotive engineer for Ford Motor Company. He retired and moved to Harrisville in 1993, into the home he built himself. Bob enjoyed building and woodworking. He liked to travel, fish and hunt and he loved watching the deer on his property.   Bob is survived by his wife Sue Himmer, his sister, Joanne Himmer of Macomb, his niece, Kristen Himmer, his great niece Hayley Quino, and his sister-in-law Janet Himmer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosamond in 1979 and by his brother, Arnold Himmer.   Mr. Himmer is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Arie Van Brenk will officiate.
