Richard K. Holmes

Richard K. Holmes, 83, of Harrisville, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Oscoda Fields.

Born May 31, 1941, to Edsel and Evelyn (Locklin) Holmes in Detroit, MI, he was raised in Westland and in Black River. Rich worked as an engineer with Lincoln Precision. He married Christy Wilson on April 11, 1987 in Harrisville. A talented musician, he played the bass guitar for several local bands, and entertained nursing home residents on Sunday afternoons. He was an avid golfer and baseball player, and coached women’s softball. He was a member of the Alcona Lodge #292, F. & A.M. He enjoyed scrollsawing and hunting. 

Rich is survived by his wife, Christy, his daughter, Ronda (Larry) Schrade, his son, Robert (April) Travis, two stepsons, Jon (Sam) Deller, and Mike (Kim) Deller, ten grandchildren, Kyle Schrade, Kyle Thum, Emma Travis, and Dylan, Riley, Eden, Ella, Austin, Owen and Luke Deller, and his brother, Gary Holmes. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Betty Holmes. 

Rich is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will be from 5:00 PM until the funeral service at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025.
