Richard L. “Dick” Arndt, 77, of Harrisville, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at his home.
Born April 19, 1948, to Earl and Doris (Skyrme) Arndt in MIdland, MI, he was raised in Auburn. Dick served with the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. Dick worked in construction, and later started welding with his brother, Raymond in Barton City. He eventually started his own company, Richard Arndt Specialized Welding. Dick married Kathy Schiellerd on January 1, 1995, in Harrisville. He was a member of the Barton City V.F.W. Dick loved to hunt and fish, especially fishing trips to Drummond Island, and enjoyed shooting.
Dick is survived by his wife, Kathy, four children, Jennifer (Juan) Hernandez, Kris (Ernest) Bybee, Michelle (Bill) Storms, and Eric (Trisha) Schiellerd, nine grandchildren, one great grandson, his special nephew, William (Greta) Arndt, and his best friend, Ken Mumma. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Raymond and Ronnie Arndt.
Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Per Dick’s request, no services have been planned.
