Renate Carriveau

Renate Carriveau, 84, of Lincoln, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. Born July 18, 1937 to Karl and Else Hartmann in Wirschweiler, Germany, she was raised there. On May 25, 1962, she married Gerald Carriveau in Idar-Oberstein, Germany. They moved to Lincoln in 1966. A true domestic engineer, Renate enjoyed cooking. She worked as a cook at the Chippewa Point Restaurant for 15 years. She enjoyed crafts, and was a talented seamstress. Renate is survived by her husband, Gerald, her daughter, Brigitte (Michael) Hawley, two grandchildren, Aaron Hawley and Jennifer (Quenton) Riggs, two great grandchildren, Summer and Sage Riggs, her sister-in-law, Helen (James) Grochowski, two brothers-in-law, Paul (Ethel) Carriveau and Harold (Carlene) Carriveau, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Hildegardt Whittmann and her brother, August Hartmann. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
