Ray G. Somers

Ray G. Somers, 78, of Lincoln, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home.   Born January 13, 1940 to Frank and E. Bernice (Sharboneau) Somers in Lincoln, he was a lifelong resident of the area.  On June 30, 1962, he married Carol Munro in Long Rapids.  Ray worked with the Alcona County Road Commission for 30 years and retired in 2004 as a Foreman.  He enjoyed working on his farms, and John Deere tractors. He was a member of the Lincoln Methodist Church.      He is survived by his wife, Carol, four children, Lisa (Todd) Bolam of Lincoln, Ted (Laura) Somers of Lincoln, Ryan (Stacey) Somers of Midland, and Amy (Ron) Gonyea of Lincoln, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters, Fay Rozanek and Ruth Travis and one brother, Roy (Theresa) Somers.  He was preceded in death by his parents.    Mr. Somers is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Wednesday, May 30 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM.  Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 31, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Lincoln United Methodist Church Women’s Ministry.  To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Ray G.
