Philip A. Panzica

Philip Anthony Panzica, 66 died peacefully, April 5, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. His battle with ALS showed his courage and strength as he remained faithful and hopeful through many challenges and always stayed positive. Born Dec. 11, 1956, in Detroit MI to Paul and Grace (Scamazzo) Panzica. They lived in Garden City MI until moving to Mikado in 1971/72 where he became a lifelong resident. He worked civil service until he bought the Sunoco Gas Station (Phil’s Sunoco) in the mid to late 80’s. When the gas station burned in 1992, he worked for John Bernard at JB Auto until he started his own business “Pacpainter” and worked in his own body shop. He eventually started working at the Senior condos in Oscoda as the maintenance man until he retired in 2020. He always had his hands in some sort of project whether it be working on cars, painting cars, farming at his camp, or just piddling. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his beloved camp where he was an avid hunter. He also liked fishing, boating, playing guitar, and played pool on a league. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. He is survived by 1 sister, Carmie (Kim) Lee, 2 brothers, Paul (Diane) Panzica and Tony (Lisa) Panzica. 6 Children, Michelle (Kevin) Johnson, Emilie Demicoli (Luke), Paul (Emmilee) Panzica, Gena (Dan) Myles, Nicholas Lamantia and Ashley Panzica. 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins and many many Friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Grace Panzica and his nephew, Joey Panzica.
