Pearl M. Conner

Pearl M. Conner, 88, of Ossineke, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Medilodge of Alpena. Born May 15, 1930 to Russell and Irene (VanWagoner) Swindlehurst in Harrisville, Pearl has been a lifelong resident of the area.  In September 1948, Pearl started a fifteen minute radio show on WATZ, where she played her guitar and sang. She did this for two and a half years, before doing an hour long show later.  She enjoyed playing and singing with other people, and was a member of two other bands. On November 21, 1951, she married Clyde R. Conner, and they formed their own band, playing at weddings and dances into the late 1950s.  Pearl also raised registered German Shepherds for 33 years. Pearl is survived by three children, Diana Conner of Muskegon, Cathy (Gary) LaCross of Alpena, and Terry Conner of Ossineke, and one grandson, Kevin Stevens.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999.Visitation will be Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Under His Wings Christian Fellowship in Alpena MI.  Pastor Art Fournier will officiate.
