Paul T. Dwyer

Paul Thomas Dwyer, Jr, 90 of Harrisville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 8th. Paul was born on March 13,1933 in Detroit, Michigan to Paul and Ellen Dwyer. A curious learner, Paul graduated from the University of Detroit, with an undergraduate degree in Economics and a graduate degree from the Detroit College of Law. He also served in the Marine Corp during the Korean conflict, where he learned some of his most positive personal and professional attributes. After working for 14 years at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Chrysler Corp, in the offices of legal affairs, Paul moved to pursue an interest in serving a community with limited legal access and began a private law practice in Oscoda, Mi. In 1972, Paul was appointed by, then Governor Willian Milliken, to Probate Court in Harrisville. 18 years later, he was voted into the 82nd district, where he lead the progression of the court system. In retirement, he volunteered for special assignments on the Supreme Court throughout Michigan and enjoyed spending his free time with family and sailing on Lake Huron. Paul is survived by his wife, Joan, of 67 years. Son, Tom Dwyer (Wilkesboro, NC), daughter, Marie Dwyer (St Paul, MN), 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
