vvvvMary Kathryn “Kay” Planck, 81, of Lincoln, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Born March 13, 1944 to Frank and Beatrice (Taylor) Morvan in Detroit, MI, she was raised in Ferndale. Kay earned a Master’s Degree in Development from Wayne State University. She worked for the Department of Housing in Detroit. On July 14, 1984, she married Bennett “Ben” Planck in Ferndale. Kay was a member of Lost Lake Woods Club, and of the United Methodist Church in Harrisville and Lincoln where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Detroit Concert Band, and worked with the Alcona Humane Society. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

Kay is survived by her husband, Ben, her sister, Lyn Astrauskas, her special niece, Jen Planck, and nieces Shelly Morvan, Kimberly (Alan) Sheldon, and Tracey (Rob) Marrone, her nephews, Todd (Heather) Adam and Matt and Chris Johnson, her great niece, Jessie Planck, her great nephew, Joe Planck, two sisters-in-law, Linda Morvan, and Beth (Ralph) Johnson, her brother-in-law, Phil (Nancy) Planck, as well as many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, T. Keith Morvan.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Old Stone Church (Haynes Community Church) 2980 N. Poor Farm Road, Harrisville, MI 48740. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alcona Humane Society.
