Mary Louise Caverly, 74, of Spruce, passed away peacefully April 14, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Born March 7, 1952 to Eugene and Lois (Doughty) Somers in Lincoln, she was raised there on the family farm. On September 28, 1968, she married Michael Caverly in Spruce. Together they raised their family in Mayville, Michigan before retiring and moving back up north to Hubbard Lake. Mary was a devoted homemaker, who enjoyed cooking great meals & desserts, gardening, tending to her flowers, and listening to country music. She loved spending time with her family & her greatest joys were her grandchildren. She enjoyed many trips to Alaska and Hawaii, and spending winters in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Mary found peace in daily walks with Mike. She will be remembered for her warm and caring demeanor, her kindness, and her way of making people feel welcomed and loved.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Mike, of nearly 58 years, her children, Matthew (Ronda) Caverly and Stacey (Jeff) Fryers, three grandchildren, Nathan (Helena) Hollenbeck, Lucas (Alexis) Hollenbeck, and Mark Fryers, one great grandson due in June, her siblings, Leo (Sharon) Somers and Kay (Glen) Lovelace, sister-in-law Donna (Bob) Balwinski, Sister in law Nancy Somers, & her brother-in-law Lanny (Denise) Caverly, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters & brother in-laws, Marge & Jim Wheeler and Carol & Barry Sheedlo, her brother, Lowell Somers, & her father and mother-in-law, LD and Helen Caverly.
There will be a celebration of Mary's life from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Mikado Civic Center. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, MI.
