Marvin "Ed" Paulson

Marvin Edwin “Ed” Paulson, 85, of Spruce, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at his home. Born January 15, 1937 to Ezra and Elsie (Olson) Paulson in Detroit, where he was raised. As a child he spent his summers with his grandparents on their farm in Spruce and developed his love of the outdoors. Ed met his wife Carol (Jollivette) while he served in the U.S. Army. On March 30, 1960 they were married and lived in Livonia. Together, they raised two children, Lyn and Lori. Carol passed away December 25, 1998. He was her angel, taking care of her throughout her illness. Ed retired to Spruce after a long career in the tool and die industry. On April 15, 2000, he married Janice (Anderson) Mitchell. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved Euchre, and was known for his sense of humor! Ed is survived by two daughters, Lyn (Phillip) Goetz and Lori (Chris) Koker, his wife, Janice and her children, Brent (Kim) Mitchell, Lynn Mitchell, Shawn Mitchell, Lori Mitchell, Amy (Rob) Torgusen, and Shannon (Erika) Mitchell, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cousins. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM with a Parish Prayer Service at 6:00 at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will continue Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the funeral mass at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Ossineke. Rev. John William will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spruce. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alcona Humane Society. BYOB!
