Marlin H. Odell, 89, of Mikado, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Oscoda Fields.

Born May 20, 1936 to Reader and Rita (Travis) Odell in Mikado, he was a resident of the area for most of his life. On November 26, 1955, he married Lucille Emerson in Lincoln. Marlin worked as a maintenance supervisor for Starboard Industries in East Tawas, and retired in 1993. He loved hunting, fishing, riding his ATV, and was a member of the Thunder Bay Walleye Club. Marlin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado.

Marlin is survived by two sons, Wayne (Deborah) Odell and Randy (Jackie) Odell, three grandchildren, Ashley Leask, William (Erin) Odell, and Tiffany (Adam) Schaefer, eleven great grandchildren, Taylor, Melayne (Hunter), Joshua, Christopher, Carson, Lilyona, Aleyah, Paisley, Conner, Ava, and Autumn, one great great grandson, Vander, two sisters-in-law, Anna Odell and Sandy Odell, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille on January 10, 2016, his daughter, Marsha Odell on January 11, 2010, his grandson, Shawn Odell on July 31, 2017, three sisters, Lillian Odell, Beatrice Kentz and Mildred Molnar, four brothers, Lawrence Travis, Richard Odell, Jesse Odell, and Barry Odell, and two sisters-in-law, Vivian Thum and Geraldine Lowery.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Rev. Tim Steiner will officiate. Memorial donations are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church or the Mikado Goodfellows.
