Marie Rockett

Marie Hazel Rockett, 85, of Spruce, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

Born October 20, 1940 to Howard and Theresa (Samp) Spigelmyre in Alpena, she was raised there. On December 1, 1962, she married Wesley D. Rockett Sr. They were longtime residents of Spruce. Marie worked as a cook for Smokey’s and the Ossineke Eagles Club. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed baking, crochet, and knitting. Marie was always ready for a good game of cards, especially Euchre, and enjoyed playing BINGO. She was a member of the Barton City Eagles. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Marie is survived by five children, Russell (Shelia) Rockett, Keith Rockett, Tina Fox (Bernie Abbott), Vernell (Timothy) Gauthier, and Hope (Michael) Smith, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, her sister, Charmaine (Jerry) McConnell, and her brother, Howard (Kathy) Spigelmyre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley D. Rockett Sr., on September 25, 1994, her daughter, Rhonda Freel, two sons, Howard Rockett and Wesley D. Rockett Jr., and two sisters, Sally Muszinski, and Theresa Cramb.

Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A Celebration of Life will be held June 20, 2026, with more details to follow.
