Linda Lou Jasso

April 4, 1942 — September 27, 2023

Mikado

On September 27, 2023 at the age of 81, Linda Lou Jasso passed peacefully on hospice after suffering many months from pulmonary fibrosis and congestive heart failure.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Known by her Nickname, Linda “Sunny” Lou – she lit up a room with her endearing smile, infectious laugh and until her last day, had the naive innocence of a child.  She loved to cook, constantly challenging herself with new recipes. She especially loved to bake and even more so, to share her tasty creations with friends, family and community – eventually becoming known as “the cookie lady.”  She will be remembered fondly by her fellow parishioners, as an enthusiastic volunteer for the fall coat drive each year and a passionate greeter at her house of worship, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Glennie Michigan.

Linda loved to try new things and never said no to an adventure. In her late 70’s she embraced the challenge to zip line and participated in the ice bucket challenge.  She loved to have fun.  She loved to bring joy to others and she lived the best life she could every single day.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Francis Jasso; her children Laura Devlin Donnelly, Karla Trosen, Frances Jasso, Julie Quandt, John Jasso, Christina Jasso and Kandyce Atkins; her grandchildren Hayley Devlin Donnelly, Delaney Michelle Mauro, Danielle Trosen, Steven Trosen, Brandy Mingo, Linzi Jasso, Jefferson Quandt and Jillian Quandt.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren;  Maddox Mingo, Cashton Mingo, Brantly Netschke and Harlow Hitchcock.  Linda is preceded in death by her beloved daughter Janis Devlin Mauro.  On a rainy day, at the moment of Linda's passing and outside of her hospital window, the clouds opened up and the sun shined bright ... and we were sure that Janis was waiting at the gates of heaven to be reunited with her mother.

Those we love are never really gone.  They will always have a cherished place and be forever in our hearts and memories.  Linda will always be remembered for the kindness she brought others and the happiness she brought to those who knew her.   In Loving Memory; Linda “Sunny” Lou Jasso 1942 –2023.
