Lillian C. Bourke

Lillian C. Bourke, 91, of Black River, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023. Lillian was born March 21, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan. On August 11, 1971, she married Harry Bourke. They were residents of Southfield and retired to Black River in 1971. Lillian was a talented knitter and was known for her handmade wool socks. She enjoyed playing golf and working puzzles. She was a loving mom and grandma, and was always good to her family. Lillian was a charter member of New Life Lutheran Church in Spruce. Lillian is survived by two sons, Brian (Sue) Bennawy and Gary Bennawy, her daughter, Sandra (Owen) Moudy, and six grandchildren, Christi Bennawy, Wesley Bennawy Mark Moudy, Sara Moudy, Michelle Moudy, and Tristann Bennawy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry on October 9, 1996, her sister, Florence Schultz and her brother, Art Schepke. There will be a memorial service Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM at New Life Lutheran Church in Spruce. Rev. Christina Bright will officiate.
