Kathy Marie Smith

Kathy Marie Hartman Smith, 68, of Harrisville, passes away Sunday, May 3, 2026 at her home.

Born March 20, 1958, to William A. and Loie L. (Bowhall) Hartman in Howell, MI, she was raised there. On July 24, 2010, she married Eugene Smith in Oscoda, and they were residents of Harrisville. Kathy enjoyed a long career in the hospitality industry. She was the life of any get together, often singing, dancing, and creating many years of cherished memories. She was loved by so many, and fiercely loved her family. Kathy loved singing Karaoke. She was in several singing groups and made many friends all over the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Eugene Smith, her sister, Mary Jean Moffatt of Cowpens SC. Her brothers-in-law, Gerald Smith, Mark Smith, Bruce Arlt, Mark St. James, Steve Mielke, her sisters-in-law, Joann Duval, Linda Smith, Mary Smith, Rosie Smith, and Martha, as well as her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Charles Hartman and Donald Hartman, her sisters, Betty Ann Hamrick and Linda Riley, her brothers-in-law, Gilbert Smith, Greg Smith, Dennis Smith, Gary Hamrick, Delbert “Doc” Moffatt, and Leon Smith, and her sisters-in-law, Michelle St. James, Sharon Smith, Anita Arlt and Marcia Smith.

Honoring Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11:00AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 21438 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hillman, MI
