Kathy A. Arndt

Kathy A. Arndt, 76, of Harrisville, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center, Alpena.

Born June 9, 1949 to Elmer L. and Ruth H. (Lay) Spitzer in Alpena, MI, she was raised there. Kathy graduated from Alpena High School in 1967, and went on to work secretarial positions at Lappan Agency, Parts Manufacturing, and Great Northern Lumber. She also worked at Captain’s Corner and The Iron Skillet. On January 1, 1995, she married Richard “Dick” Arndt in Harrisville. Kathy played pool for many years, and has numerous trophies that she was very proud of. She enjoyed fishing on Drummond Island with her late husband, Dick.

Kathy is survived by four children, Eric (Trisha) Schiellerd, Kris (Ernest) Bybee, Michelle (Bill) Storms, and Jennifer (Juan) Hernandez, eight grandchildren, one great grandson, her brother, Louis (Jennifer) Spitzer, her good friends Kenny and Penny, and her faithful canine companion, Remy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick on February 23, 2026, and her brother, Allen Spitzer.

Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Per Kathy’s wishes, no services are planned.
