Judith C. Urban, 82, of Barton City, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.
Born March 3, 1942 to Kenneth and Helen (Leasum) Anschutz in Sturgeon Bay, WI, she was raised there. On December 2, 1961, she married Louis Urban Jr. in Sturgeon Bay. They were longtime residents of Rogers City. She moved to Barton City in 1984. Judy was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Barton City, where she was active in the Ladies Aid and Bible study. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She enjoyed crochet, and made countless hats and mittens for area children.
Judy is survived by four children, Tracy (Dan) LeSage, Diana (Mark) Flerchinger, James Urban and Louis (Carol) Urban III, 19 grandchildren, Marian, Sean, Bill, Katie, David, Ron, Judi, Nikki, Ashley, Samantha, Megan, AJ, TJ, Logan, Alex, Louis IV, and Dylan, 24 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter, Skylar Rose, two brothers, Ken (Mary) Anschutz, and Mike (Beth) Anschutz, as well as several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis on April 13, 2012, and one great grandchild.
Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be announced in the near future.
