Joseph Everette Gauthier, 91, of Black River passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Medilodge Alpena. Born August 9, 1930 to Adolphus and Melvina (LaVigne) Gauthier in Black River, he was raised there. Joe served in the U.S. Army. On January 20, 1951 he married Harriet Vorhes in Pontiac. They were residents of Waterford and White Lake, MI. Joe worked as a heating and cooling contractor for many years before retiring to Lost Lake Woods Club in 1988. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Black River, and of its Men’s Group. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. Joe is survived by one daughter, Sandi (Steve) Bobryk, four sons, Daniel (Cheryl), Timothy, Chuck (Susan), and Scott (Erin Prena) Gauthier, ten grandchildren, Marc, Matt, Jon, Brian, Gregory, Stephen, and Sage Gauthier, Honnah Minnick, and Chris and Mike Bedford, 15 great grandchildren, one sister, Loretta Baxter, four sisters-in-law, Isabel, Sandy, and Delores Gauthier, and Barbara Shaw, and two brothers-in-law, Dan Bouchard, and Jack Shaw. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet on July 28, 2018, and 15 brothers and sisters. Mr. Gauthier is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln where visitation will be Sunday, August 22 from 3:00 until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue Monday, August 23, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until the funeral mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Black River.
