Joseph Curmi

Joseph Curmi, 71, of Barton City, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at his home. Born April 30, 1951, to John and Maryanne (Sammut) Curmi in Malta, he was raised there. He moved to Michigan at the age of 22 and worked for Ford Motor Company. Joe became a citizen of the United States on June 7, 2002. He retired to Barton City in 2006. On January 7, 2010, he married Karen Hawkins in Harrisville. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. Joe is survived by his wife, Karen, two children, Paul and Filomena Curmi, two stepchildren, Steven and David Newhouse, one grandchild, his sister, Carmenline (Joe) Saliba, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. Mr. Curmi is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Rev. John William will officiate.
