Josafat “Jose” Camargo-Sanchez, 55, of Harrisville, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.
Born November 14, 1968 to Geraro Camargo-Acuna and Eliazar Sanchez Gutierrez in Lagunillas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, he was raised there. Jose moved to the United States in 1986. He was a well known mason, carpenter, and handyman throughout Alcona County. He was always building something. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking.
Jose is survived by his wife, Jennefer Arkwood, his stepchildren, Dusten Dais, of Naples FL, Becka Foster of Owosso, MI, Wyatt Arkwood of Standish, MI, and Amanda Goforth, step grandchildren, Angelica and Scott Goforth, and Ayanna Copple, his parents, and his siblings, Leonicio (Pamela), Marcelino, Maria Eleazar, Maria Guadalupe, Maria del Carmen, and Maria Consuelo Camargo-Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sherry Camargo on November 23, 2008.
Visitation will be Friday, May 31, from 11:00 until the funeral service at 1:00 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, MI. Committal services will be in Rayon, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
