Joanne H. Higgins

Joanne Helen Higgins, 77, of Harrisville, died on March 4, 2021 at Jamison's Nursing Home. She was born June 14, 1943 to Lawrence and Erma (Laub) Dellar in Mikado, Mich. Ms. Higgins owned and operated “My Lady Hair Care" and was also employed by the Michigan DNR for many years. She was an avid gardener, artist, and animal lover with an exceptional work ethic. If she was not working, you could find her in her flower garden, which she meticulously maintained. She enjoyed meeting people at the DNR boat launch in Harrisville. She took great pride in her family, especially her grandchildren, Joanne had a huge heart and always put others before herself. The highlight of her day was to "go to Bert's for dinner", her partner and best friend for over 20 years. Ms. Higgins is survived by two sons, James Higgins, Edward (Colleen) Higgins; six grandchildren, Ally (Bryce) Franklin, Deven Higgins, Morgan (Grant) Plowdry, Brenton (Sharon) Higgins, Brittany (Jake) Gerow, Jordan Joyce. Her partner Albert Blanck, One great grandchild Gideon Higgins and several nieces and nephews. Three sisters; Donna (Alfred) Scully, Marjorie Patterson, Judith (Lowell) Potvin, One Brother, John "Jack" (Doris) Dellar. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Erma Dellar.
