Jerry L. Shaw

Jerry L. Shaw, of Lincoln, formerly of Flint, MI passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.

Born January 4, 1947, to John M. and Lillian (Lloyd) Shaw in Flint, MI, he was raised in Clio, MI. Jerry went to school in Clio, MI. He worked at General Motors at Fisher Body in Flint, MI until it closed. He then transferred to Buick City, MI. He worked with General Motors for 31 years, retiring in 1995. In 1997 he moved to Big Spring, TX, and in the summer of 2011, he moved to Hale, MI. Jerry loved his animals, and often turned the wild ones into pets. He enjoyed model airplanes, guns, cars, computers, going fishing, boating, camping, road trips, and mowing his own lawns. He was a jack of all trades, if it needed fixing he would do it. Whether it was fixing cars, welding electronics, replacing all kinds of flooring, it did not matter, he did it!

Jerry is survived by his wife, Joy Shaw, his sons David Shaw, of Clarksville TN, and Doug Shaw of Reno NV, his daughter, Christina of Clio, MI his step daughters, Helen (Rye) and Mark Cook of Flint, MI, and Tia Rye of Mt. Morris, MI his grandsons, Michael Rye of Big Springs TX, Devon Cook of Flint, MI, Theron Sneed, and Tijon Sneed, of Big Springs, TX, as well as several more grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his former wife, Karen Freten-Borough of Flint, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian G. Lloyd (9/13/1921-7/9/1984), his father John M. Shaw (6/15/1921-2/12/1998) his daughter Carla J. Rye-Shaw (8/22/1980-8/22/1991), his granddaughter Anastisha (Anna) C.N. Cook (10/21/2002-8/10/2018), and his brother Robert R. Shaw (9/19/1944-2/26/2015).
