It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father, Holland Prentice McHam, 91. The lord called dad home October 12th, 2024. He was born November 2nd, 1932 in Detroit, TX to Thomas Edward McHam (1894-1945) and Etta Jane (Cooper) (1898-1934). He was known by many as H.P. or Todi. He proudly served in the United States Army as a paratrooper and then spent many decades working as a skilled welder for Pipeliners Union #798. His work took him all over the US and to many countries as well. Dad loved to share life stories and had some great ones to tell. He believed if you gave your word, it should matter, and that by working hard you could get ahead. He enjoyed reading Westerns and the newspapers, telling jokes, or hearing a good one. He was a man of strong faith and morals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Sybil Clifton “Mac” McHam, Dub Hulen McHam as well as two sisters, Dola Jesse Pauline, and Earma Imagene “Genie”, his first wife, Yvonne M. (Wigen) and their daughter, Jaynetta Marie LaCoe. His estranged wife, Bobbie J. Marsh, and “little Sandie” whom he cherished.
Surviving Holland are his children: Jeffrey, Jothawnya, Jonathan, Jennifer, and Jason along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
