Helen C. Walker

Helen C. Walker, 101, of Harrisville, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at her home.   Born March 4, 1918 to Isaiah and Elizabeth Eby in Madison Hat, Canada she was raised in Detroit, MI.  She moved to Haynes Township when she was 12 years old, she completed the 8th grade of school.  She worked for the Garmet Factory in Alpena at age 17, later working for Parts Manufacturing in Harrisville and Rolled Products in Tawas City before retiring. A life time member of the Haynes Community Church, Helen enjoyed quilting and making afghans and she would often give them away.   Helen married Victor Walker in 1939, he preceded her in death on September 9, 1995.   Helen is survived by her daughters, Faye (Jim) Kelly  and Sharon (David) Elliott both of Harrisville. Three grandchildren, Thomas (Brenda)  Hastings of Grand Rapids, Beth (Bruce) Mann of Pullman and James (Jackie) Kelly of Harrisville. Six great grandchildren, Robert Hastings of Grand Rapids, Walker Kelly of Harrisville, L.B. and Megan Mann of Grand Rapids, Paige Groom of Bensalem, Pennsylvania and Kolin Groom of Big Rapids, Michigan.   Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln.
