Harriet A. Gauthier

Harriet A. Gauthier, 86, of Lincoln, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Mid Michigan Medical Center, Alpena. Born May 22, 1932 to Arthur and Gene (O’Rourke) Vorhes in Pontiac, she was raised there.  On January 20, 1951, she married Joseph E. Gauthier in Waterford. They were residents of Waterford and White Lake before retiring to Lincoln (Lost Lake Woods Club) in 1988.  She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Black River and a devoted member of the Altar Society. She volunteered with numerous community service projects through the church.  Harriet was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her entire life to loving and helping family and friends. Her biggest enjoyment was the time she spent with her grandchildren whenever possible. A loving, giving and caring person who will live for eternity in the heart and soul of everyone she touched. Harriet is survived by her husband, Joseph, one daughter, Sandi (Steve) Bobryk of Seba Beach, Alberta, four sons, Daniel (Cheryl), Timothy, Chuck (Susan) and Scott Gauthier of Black River, ten grandchildren, Marc, Matt, Jon, Brian, Gregory, Stephen, and Sage Gauthier, Honnah Minnick, and Chris and Mike Bedford, 11 great grandchildren, one sister, Barbara (Jack) Shaw, one brother, Ron Vorhes, two sisters-in-law, Loretta Baxter and Isabel Gauthier, three brothers-in-law, James (Sandy), Clifford (Delores) and Bernard Gauthier, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sister Helen Stillwell and her brother, Arthur Vorhes. Mrs. Gauthier is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M.  Visitation will continue Friday, August 3, 2018 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Robert Bissot will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Black River with a celebration luncheon immediately following at the Alcona Township hall.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
