Glenna N. Hobbs, 97, of Spruce, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at her home.


Born December 11, 1926 to Nathan and Lenna (Birmingham) Mathis in Jackson, MI, she was raised in Millington.  After graduating from High School, Glenna worked for Bell Telephone.  On July 1, 1949, she married William Hobbs in Flint, and he preceded her in death in 1999.  Glenna worked in high end fashion retail, selling clothes at The Vogue in Flint.  She moved to the South Shore of Hubbard Lake in the early 1990s to care for her mother.  Glenna loved puzzles and crochet, and could often be found tending to her garden or cheering on her beloved Detroit Tigers.  She was a member of the Snowdrifters Club, and was Grand Marshall of the South Shore Fourth of July Parade in 2021.  


Glenna is survived by her daughter, Terri Ann (Kenneth) Eastman, her son, Billy (Chris) Hobbs, her granddaughter, Rebecca (Darwin) Geary, great grandchildren, Summer and Colt Geary, and her cherished furbabies, Allie Nadine, Rowdy, and Sunni.  She was preceded in death by her, siblings, Nathan Reed Mathis, Bonnie Jean Hammond, Ronald Wixom, and Jacqueline Briody.  


Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.  A celebration of her life is being planned for the near future.  Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of MIchigan, the South Shore Fire Department, or to the Alcona Humane Society.
