Gerald L. Ward, 85, of Harrisville, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at his home.   Born June 27, 1933 to Harry and Anna (Johnson) Ward in Gustin Township, he was raised in Romulus.  Gerald served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1956. He married Carol Dubisky on June 19, 1954 in Romulus.  Gerald worked for many years as a tool and die maker for Fleetwood in Detroit, before retiring in 1989. In 1970, he moved to Harrisville to live on the farm that has been in his family for over 100 years, a place where he loved tinkering and working.  He was a member of the American Legion Mikado Post #254 and of the Barton City Eagles Aerie 4141.   Gerald is survived by his wife, Carol, one son Thomas (Debra) Ward of Alpena, one granddaughter, Andrea (Michael) Needham, three great grandchildren, Araceli, Rain, and Zane Needham, his brother, Donald (Nancy) Ward of Chelsea, his sister-in-law, Roxanne Ward of Harrisville, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Tabben, and two brothers, Robert in the Korean War and William.   Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.  Per Gerald’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
