George L. McClain

October 19, 1928 — February 11, 2019

George L. McClain, 90, of Mikado, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at his home.   Born October 19, 1928 to John L. and Mary C. (Duncan) McClain in Hillman, MI, he was raised there and in Pontiac, MI.  George joined the U.S. Army in 1949, and served during the Korean War. He lived in Waterford, and worked as a Utility Man for General Motors retiring after over 30 years in 1987.  After his retirement he moved to Mikado where he enjoyed watching the deer and other animals in his yard, reading the newspaper, and country music.   George is survived by his daughter, Linda (Tony) Borcsani of Mikado, his son, George Eric (Kim) McClain of Georgia, two grandsons, Devin James and Eric L. McClain, his sister, Leah Davis, his brother, Lyman McClain, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, MaryLee (Davis) on April 29, 1991, and siblings, Mary Fisher, Frances Dunbar, and Thelma, Blanche, John Jr., Raymond, and Tom McClain.   Mr. McClain is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM.  Rev. Paul Grabstanowicz will officiate. Burial will be in the Glennie Cemetery in the spring. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of George L.
