Flossie Matuzak

Flossie Matuzak, 96, of Harrisville, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville. Born December 10, 1922 to Daniel and Earie (Collings) Ross in Bad Axe, Mi, she moved to Harrisville in 1960.  On October 20, 1964, she married Edward Matuzak in Tawas. They were longtime residents of Harrisville. Flossie was a devoted homemaker, who loved her flowers and her garden, always planting extra to give to family and friends.  She was a Brownie Girl Scout leader. She worked many years at Pockrandts in Oscoda and worked as a seamstress. She especially enjoyed quilting, giving many of her quilts to family or friends, or to be auctioned off for the Cancer Association.  Flossie was an avid bowler and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lincoln and worked with the Ladies Mission there.   Flossie is survived by six children, Carol Franklin, David (Carol) Kingsland, Mary (David) Gedro, Julie Matuzak, Bonnie (Larry) Gildea, and Melinda Romero, 17 grandchildren, Jeff Franklin, Brad Franklin, Kirk (Laura) Franklin, Victorie (Chris) Kersten, Frank (Niki) Root, Allie Matuzak, Lydia Gildea, Iain Gildea, Devon Gildea, Brianna Gildea, Cole Romero, Sam Romero, Wyatt Romero, Lisa (Duane) Aisthrope, Kurt Romero, Nathan (Lindsay) Romero, and Annie (Stu) Malafa, 16 great grandchildren, Nolan Kersten, Alexandra Kersten, Owen Franklin, Evan Franklin, Christopher (Vanessa) Root, Sydney Root, Brooklyn Aisthrope, Taylor Aisthrope, Holden Romero, Graetel Romero, Anna Abreu, Thomas Romero, Landon Quist, Noah Lepzinski, Perrin Malafa, and Xander Malafa, and five great great grandchildren, Zayden Leaf, Zoey Leaf, Hazel Kevern, Ella Kevern, and Landon Root.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frederick Amos Kingsland II, and Edward Matuzak, two sons, Frederick Amos Kingsland III, and Robert Kingsland, her granddaughter, Hannah Romero and her son-in-law, Tom Romero, as well as ten brothers and sisters.   Mrs. Matuzak is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln from 12:00 until the funeral service at 1:00 PM.  Dr. Rev.
