Eleanor M. Gerow, 92, of Hubbard Lake died Monday, April 13, 2020 at Medilodge of Alpena. Eleanor was born November 16, 1927 in Alpena to Albert and Dora Tracey. She married Arnold (Jim) Gerow November 8, 1947, and they spent their married life in Hubbard Lake. She was a member of the Ossineke United Methodist Church. Her few outside jobs were a telephone operator in Alpena, at a local hardware, and she helped run their local small business. Her most important job was being a wife and mother. She was best known as the Pasty Lady of Hubbard Lake and for her hand-quilted baby blankets. Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Ed) LaFeldt of Hubbard Lake and Jill Pendry of Gaylord and five sons, Timothy (Julie) Gerow of Alpena, Curtis (Judy) Gerow of Hubbard Lake, Craig (Tammy) Gerow of Hubbard Lake, Scott (Kimberly) Gerow of Rockford, MI, and Kyle (Tammy) Gerow of Lexington, South Carolina. Eleanor (Grandma Jeep to her grandkids) is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Jim Gerow of Hubbard Lake, as well as a brother, Francis Tracey of Alpena, a sister, Dorothy Wright of Alpena, and her grandson, Colin Gerow of Lexington South Carolina. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Ossineke United Methodist Church. Creamation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln.
