Dorothy June (Apsey) Cole passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Jamieson Nursing Home. She was born on June 2, 1930 in Lincoln to the late Delbert and Inez(Walker) Apsey. On July 7, 1951, she married Jack Cole at the First Baptist Church in Lincoln. She lived in Bay City for two years where she worked at a bank. Later while her husband was in the Korean War, she worked at Trigger and Bissonette Lumber Company, of Oscoda, as a secretary. Dorothy and Jack owned and operated Cole’s Propane Gas and Appliance from 1962 - 1992. Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln where she attended most of her life. Through the years at Sunday School and Church she held various offices, including Sunday School Pianist, Secretary and Teacher. She was the Church Organist for 50 years and was honored for that in 2013. The Lord came first in her life followed by family and friends. Her favorite Bible verse was “Call upon the name of the Lord and you will be saved,” Romans 10:13 She is survived by her husband of 69 years Jack. Also surviving are one daughter, Kathleen Sue Cole, three sons Kenneth (Kate), Kevin (Candy), and Bradley (Lucy) Cole, Grandchildren Kelly Black, Angela (David) Brown, Keegan (Lesley) Cole, Nathan (Melissa) Franklin, Tyler (Margie) Cole, Austin (Kaylee) Cole, Alex (Emily) Cole, Karina Cole, Kendra Cole, 14 great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Jean Wolffis of Muskegon. Preceding her in death were one infant son, Donald Allen, one infant daughter, Beth Ann, and son, Darrell, age 25, three sisters, Mary Buchner, Irene Ritchie, Hazel Wallenmaier, and five brothers, Robert Apsey, Howard Apsey, Norman Apsey, Ray Apsey, Richard Apsey. Mrs. Cole is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Friday, July 31st from noon until 7 pm, and at First Baptist Church of Lincoln on Saturday, August 1st from 10 am until the funeral service at noon. Dr. Rev. Arie Van Brenk will officiate.
