Dennis John Augustine

November 11, 1955 — February 21, 2022

Dennis John Augustine, age 66 of Barton City, Michigan passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022, at Munson Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on November 11, 1955, to Mary and William Augustine, who preceded him in death in 1988 and 1994. Dennis left this world for a better place. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army and, afterwards, worked for a variety of companies, including Ford Motor Company in Detroit, MI. He later moved to Barton City where he held a series of fascinating jobs at a sawmill, as a fur trader, and at IIT Baylock in Oscoda, MI. After retirement, he and his son Johnny owned and operated D&J Better Made Potato Chip Route in Northeastern Michigan. He loved riding his motorcycle and working on projects with his two sons. He and Johnny loved building models that were military related. He was a strong supporter of the U.S. Military and the 4th of July was one of his favorite holidays when he relished having his family over to barbeque. He loved watching his son Russ cook on the grill while his granddaughters, Sofia and Natalie, ran through the sprinklers and he shared stories with his family. He and Johnny enjoyed taking long rides on their prized Gator, picking up bottles and cans along the way to recycle. While Dennis was loved by many, Johnny was his best buddy and will miss him the most. Dennis is survived by his two brothers William and David Augustine; his two sons Russell (Deborah) Augustine, and John Augustine; two beautiful granddaughters Sofia and Natalie Augustine; his Nephew Ricky Augustine; his ex-wife and dear friend Roxann (Hugh Skip) Brown; the many in-laws that will miss him dearly: Dorothy, Roddy, Christine, Diane (Erica), Robert, Jay, and many nieces and nephews; and many friends and great neighbors who will also miss him greatly. Preceded in death by his brother Richard Augustine; nephew Randy Augustine; and In-Laws Joyce Barbee and Russell McKeen. A celebration of his life will be held later this year when all his family and loved ones can gather, rejoice, and recount the many beautiful memories of his life.
