Cheryl L. Travis, 69, of Mikado, passed away March 27, 2023 at Lakeview Manor in Tawas City. Born October 21, 1953, to Frederick and Betty (Spencer) Travis in Lincoln, MI, she has been a lifelong resident of Mikado. Cheryl was an excellent cook and was known for her fried bread. She was very well known for all of her custom upholstery work for many years doing custom car interiors, furniture and boat seats. She enjoyed fishing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Cheryl is survived by three daughters, Vicki Wassmann (Brian Alda), Nicki (Jeff) Bartz, and Tamie Stuit (Aaron Warren), nine grandchildren, Matt, Mark, James (Danielle Alt), and Hannah (Brenden Prout) Wassmann, Sarah (Justin) Apsey, Mitchell Ladd (Ashley Rizzardi), Lona and Ryan Bartz, and Tyler Warren, one great grandson, Brantley Apsey, two brothers, Kalvin (Sandy) Travis and LeRoy (Beth) Travis, several nieces and nephews, her former husband, Terry Stuit, her daughter, Becki’s fiancé, Butch Woods, and her beloved canine friend, Minnie. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Becki Wassmann, and her granddaughter Mindy Wassmann. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Mikado Civic Center.
