Cecil A. Pinder

Cecil A. Pinder, 87, of Harrisville, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026, at his home.

Born February 18, 1939, to Stanley and Bertha (Elmer) Pinder in Lincoln, he was a resident of the area for most of his life. Cecil was a member of the last graduating class of Harrisville High School. On April 29, 1959, he married Cecile Ayling. Cecil worked for Barton and Mallow for many years. In 1967, he moved to the farm in Harrisville and established CAP Builders. On February 21, 1971, he married Sue Lewis. Cecil was an original Fair Board member and was part of the group that established the first Alcona County Fair in Harrisville. On March 21, 1981, he married Charlotte Skarritt. In 1986, he and his son established C&R Construction. He retired in 2010. Cecil was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the Northeast Michigan Quarter Horse Association, and was a 4H leader. He was one of the hardest working men around, but most of all he was a devoted Dad and Grandpa.

Cecil is survived by seven children, Richard (Debbie) Pinder, Tammy Pinder Morang, Debbie (Dave) Smalstig, Donna (Todd) Lovelace, Linda (Greg) Pinder Bianco, Cecil Pinder, and Lisa (Rick) Myrick, 16 grandchildren, Ryan Pinder, Rebecca Holowatyj, Kerry Volant, Korina Hart, Chad Pinder, Melisa Webb, Miranda Lane, Jcee Milliron, Macee Lovelace Mayfield, Jacob Lovelace, Marc Bianco, Chantz Pinder, Kaylynn Bleasing, Cole Pinder, Ashlea Pinder, and James Budreau, numerous great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Mary Pinder, numerous nieces and nephews, and his very special friend, Kelly Marrow. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte on May 28, 2026, his daughter, Tami Gleason on May 8, 2012, two sisters, Ethel LaLonde and Helen Sharboneau, two brothers, Elmer Pinder and Emery Pinder, his daughter-in-law, Cindy Pinder, his son-in-law, William Keith Ware.

Mr. Pinder is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Michigan.
