Caroline Darling

Caroline M. Darling, 86, of Lincoln, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.

Born May 21, 1940, to William and Betty Jane (Morgan) Schram in Lincoln, she was raised there. A longtime resident of Waterford, Caroline returned to Lincoln to be closer to her family. A devoted homemaker, Caroline loved to cook and was a talented baker. She was known for her delicious pies, especially her strawberry and apple pies. She enjoyed watching the birds, squirrels and chipmunks in the feeders, and tending to her flower beds.

Caroline is survived by three daughters, Sherry (Scott) Fleck, Carol Marsh (John Beach), and Lori (Herman) Haglund, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters, Ruthie Green, Etta Nelson, and Brenda Krug, two brothers, Lonnie Schram and George Schram, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and by her sister Fannie Arnot.

Mrs. Darling is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.
