Carline Dorothy Bendig

Carline Dorothy (Scheenks) Bendig, 80, of Harrisville, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at her home.

Born June 22, 1943 to Carl and Theresa (Washe) Scheenks in Detroit, she was raised there.  On April 23, 1962, she married Daniel Bendig.  They were residents of Harrisville.  Carline attended cosmetology school, and was a devoted homemaker.  She was an avid reader, and enjoyed traveling and playing BINGO.  She was a member of the Ossineke Eagles Aerie 3762.  

Carline is survived by her son Paul (Jennifer) Bendig of Mancelona, her daughter, Julie (John Swanberg) Bendig of Cadillac, five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, three sisters, Barbara Smith of Virginia, Pattie Elliot of Michigan, Renee McMahon of Florida, two brothers, Adam Scheenks of Michigan, and Michael Scheenks of North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, on May 11, 2019, her sister, Sharon Brooks, and two brothers, Albert Scheenks and Carl Scheenks.  

Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club in Alpena.
