Carla May Johnson, 55, of Spruce, Michigan, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Carla was born on October 10, 1971, to Dean and Cora (Pardee) Bond in Alpena, Michigan, and was raised in Hubbard Lake. On October 22, 2005, she married Roger Shane Johnson in St. Clair Shores. She was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant for over 20 + years, who loved caring for others, a reflection of the kind and compassionate person she was.

Carla was truly one of the kindest souls to ever walk this earth. She had a heart of gold, loved unconditionally, and had a way of making everyone around her feel special. She was the light in everyone’s life, always ready to laugh, have a good time, and make memories with the people she loved. She enjoyed country music, especially George Strait, as well as the Eagles and Def Leppard. Carla loved NASCAR.

Above all, Carla’s greatest joy was her family. Her three daughters and four grandchildren were her entire world, and she loved them more than words could ever express. Her love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will live on through them forever.

Carla is survived by her three daughters, Shawna (Jaden) Bartz, Tihanna Bond, and Victoria (Rodney) Morisette; her four grandchildren, Kinsley Bartz, Rozlyn Morisette, Jordan Johnson, and Rodney Morisette III; her siblings, Carol Pray, Lyda Williams, John Bond, and Elwin Matthews; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Shane Johnson, who passed away on February 20, 2024, and her sister, Judy Copas.

Carla is now reunited with her beloved husband in heaven, where they can be together again. Though her family is heartbroken by her loss, they find comfort in knowing her love will never leave them. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful heart, her endless kindness, and the light she brought into everyone’s lives.

Carla was more than a mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her. The world was a better place because she was in it, and she will be loved and missed beyond measure.

Carla is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, Michigan, where visitation will be held Monday, November 2, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
