Boyden Olson

Boyden R. Olson, 92, of Spruce, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Born January 24, 1926 to Harry A. and Inez (Rasmussen) Olson in Spruce, he was raised there.  On October 9, 1948, he married Arlene Timm.  Boyden worked as a millwright and foreman for General Motors in Detroit.  He retired in 1981 and returned to Spruce.  He was a member of Spruce Lutheran Church.  Boyden was a member of the Hubbard Lake Sportsman’s Club, the Hubbard Lake Citizens Watch and the NEMSCA Board.  He served as Alcona Township Fire Chief and Trustee.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.  He is survived by his son Michael (Linda) Olson of Thompson Station TN, three grandchildren, one sister, Berniece Kowalski, two nephews and one niece.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene on June 28, 2016, and his son, Douglas Olson on February 22, 2011.  Funeral services were Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Spruce Lutheran Church.  Rev.
