Billy Sanders

Billy B. Sanders, 83, of Black River, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at his home. Born November 25, 1937 to Oscar and Rose (Goheen) Sanders in Flint, MI, he was raised there. On November 28, 1955, he married Shirley Pavy in Flint. They were longtime residents of Port Huron where Billy worked as a manufacturing services engineer for Wirtz Manufacturing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 11 in Port Huron and of the Shriner Elf Khurafeh in Saginaw. He was a Toastmaster and a member of the International Management Club. In 2005 he moved to Black River. Billy enjoyed shooting, hunting, walking and riding his bike. He was an active member and past chairman of the Alcona County Republican Party. Billy is survived by his wife, Shirley, three children, Jaynee (Richard) Germond of Lincoln, Lorrie (Kip) Sanders of Port Huron, and Dale (Sue) Sanders of Lincoln, 8 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Bob Sanders. Private funeral services have been held. Rev. Tim Steiner officiated. Arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
