Betty J. Luther, 88, of Oscoda, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 8, 2021. Born August 5, 1933, to Clarence and Mae (Thompson) Davis in Moore Twp., she graduated from Marysville High School. Betty entered in the United States Marine Corps in 1952 and completed boot camp at Cherry Point. She served as a typist at the Pentagon until her honorable discharge in 1954. She married Loren S. Luther in 1962 and moved to Mikado from Port Huron in 1975. They owned and ran Kahn’s General Store in Mikado for 18 years. She retired in 1993 to Kilmaster where she loved working in the yard and garden, playing Euchre, camping, BBQing, and going to casinos. She loved her cats Whitey and Bella, and most of all being with family and friends. She was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years, where she was commander of post #254 for two years. Mrs. Luther is survived by one daughter, Brenda Smith, four granddaughters LeeAnn, Rhonda (Gary), Tammy (Don), and Melissa (Jason), two grandsons, Luke (Rebecca) and Ronnie, four great granddaughters, Averiana, Alyssa, Raelyn, and Ashley, three great great grandchildren, Audrey, Larry, and Ryan, her sister Violet Owens, her sister-in-law, Barbara Davis, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Loren in 2011, her son Ron Page in 2010, and her son Bobbie Page in 1965. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, a military funeral will be held in the spring. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Betty J.
