Betty Hames

January 22, 1928 — September 6, 2022

Betty Wicox-Hames was born January 22, 1928. She entered into eternal Life peacefully on Sept. 6, 2022 at the Dimondale Nursing Care Center. At last, she would meet her beloved Jesus and family members who had passed before her. Betty is survived by her brothers, Pat and Bill Moore, loving daughter-in-law Linda Burns and many neices and nephaews and many friends. Betty was a wonderful, loving woman. She was kind to everyone and loved to give little gifts and cards to friends and people who she wanted to cheer up and give a bit of happiness to. She had a beautiful, infectious laugh and was witty and wise. She lost her husband Bill Wicox while they were in their 30's. Heartbroken, Betty continued on, raising her son David by working in nursing homes and hospitals where helping people was her joy. She loved music, especially hymns which made her smile. Betty loved children and loved to watch little children play and enjoyed seeing pictures of babies. She was a very faith-filled woman and loved to share her love of Jesus wherever she went. May her legacy be one of faith, family and love. Many thanks to the staff at Dimondale Nursing Care Center for giving Betty much love and great care for the past 4 years. Betty is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Donations in Betty's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospitel or a charity of your choice.
