Bette Ann Keerl

Bette Ann Keerl, 81, of Mikado, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Tawas Manor.

Born March 29, 1942, to Thomas and Shirley (Baker) Ross Jr., in Garden City, MI, she was raised there.  On January 13, 1962, she married Stanley Frederick Keerl in Garden City.  They were residents of the Detroit Area, moving to Harrisville in 1981, where they owned and operated a fishing and camping store, Keerl’s Korner.  She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville.  Bette was a devoted homemaker and a talented seamstress.  She was an avid quilter, and made each member of her family a quilt, among other treasured handmade keepsakes.  

Bette is survived by four children, Tom Keerl of Harrisville, Tracy D’Augustino of Harrisville, Tina (Gary) Gfeller of Colorado, and Barbara (Bill) Richardson of AuGres, ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Fred on August 28, 2022, her son-in-law, Pat D’Augustino, two sisters, and one brother.  

Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Gillies Funeral Home in Harrisville.  Visitation will continue on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM until the Funeral Mass at 2:00 PM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville.  Interment will follow at the St. Anne Catholic Cemetery, Harrisville.
