Barry Sheedlo

Barry Sheedlo, 79, of Alpena, formerly of Rochester Hills, MI, died February 12, 2022 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Alpena. Barry was born February 15, 1942 in Rogers City, MI. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 years. On November 7, 1964 he married Carole Somers. Barry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and retired as Master Sergeant. In the service, he lived in Turkey, Texas, Virginia, Kansas, Illinois, and Michigan. In Michigan, he belonged to the Lions Club and the Detroit Sportsmen Congress. Barry is survived by his only son, Erik Eugene Sheedlo of Madison Heights, MI, and his in-laws, Leo and Sharon Somers of Lincoln, Lowell and Nancy Somers of IN, Mary and Mike Caverly of Spruce, Kay and Glen Lovelace of Mikado, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Carole, in 2018, his parents, Edmund and Charlotte Sheedlo, Carole’s parents, Eugene and Lois Somers, and a sister and brother-in-law, Marge and James Wheeler. A memorials service will take place at a later date. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln.
