Arnold R. Ward, 89, of Oscoda, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at his home.   Born October 14, 1929 to Harry and Blanche (Morrison) Ward in Lincoln, he was raised in Alcona County. On September 22, 1951, he married Ruth Wissmiller in Mikado, They were residents of Greenbush before moving to Flint. Arnie worked as a car hauler for Anchor Motor Freight for 37 years. After he retired, he moved to his lake home in Oscoda. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Mikado. He enjoyed deer hunting and ice fishing.   Arnie is survived by his wife, Ruth, two sons, Harry (Janice A.) Ward of Clio and Thomas (Janice M.) Ward of Durand, four grandchildren, Ryan (Kim) Ward, Robert (Karyl) Ward, Jason (Tammy) Ward and Sherri (Aaron) Tower, six great grandchildren Alexis, Blake, Ethan and Paris Ward and Brett and Julia Tower, his brother, Melvin (Gertie) Ward, his sister-in-law, Verda Ward, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Floyd, Irven and Kenneth Ward.   Mr. Ward is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Monday, May 13 from 1:00 until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday May 14 from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Rev. Char McGuire will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery, Oscoda.
